Abstract
Lojasiewicz-Simon gradient inequalities are a strong tool in the field of non-linear analysis. In this talk, I will give a short introduction into the field of Lojasiewicz-Simon gradient inequalities. Starting from the original inequality by Lojasiewicz, I will present the development of the theory and applications until the most recent versions. Afterwards, I will explain how to apply this theory to geometric functionals. Ultimately, I’m going to demonstrate how we were able to apply this machinery to the tangent-point energies.
